Foundation Compass for institutions and educators

Foundation Compass is independent decision support for applicants exploring UK Foundation Programme preferences. It can also help educators explain what the published evidence does and does not show.

Scope

The allocation model covers the ordinary unlinked pathway for specified inputs. It is a teaching and exploration tool, not an official allocation service or an allocation prediction. It does not model every Oriel pathway, and it cannot tell an applicant where they will be placed.

Methodology assurance

Our methodology and limitations explain the allocation rule, scenario assumptions, tests and uncertainty. The source register identifies the published evidence used. Synthetic scenarios and contributed rankings are subject to important representativeness limits; they do not establish an individual allocation probability.

Accessibility

We aim to make the public site accessible, including keyboard navigation and readable layouts across screen sizes. Please email us if you encounter a barrier so we can investigate it.

Potential educator resources

We are open to discussing possible educator resources, such as a methodology explainer or teaching materials that retain the evidence caveats. The free society sharing kit is available now. Further resources would need to be agreed before being described as available.
